Progress Notes

The Progress Notes feature in the AWARDS Services - Individual module enables case managers and counselors to quickly and easily write narrative documentation of individual contact between consumers and agency staff.  Progress note reports can also be viewed using this AWARDS feature.

Required Permissions

Use of the Progress Notes feature requires the following permissions:

Program Chart Access
Display Any Chart Records Buttons
Display Chart Records Services - Individual Button
MC Billing Notes Selection (required only if you will be selecting progress notes that report on contacts to be billed to Medicaid)

  NOTE: Permissions are assigned using the Permissions Maintenance feature.  If you do not have access to that feature and need a permission listed here, please contact your supervisor or your local Help Desk for assistance. 

Additionally, please keep in mind that:

  Though users can view progress notes written by others using report mode, they can only update and delete progress notes they themselves entered.  An exception is made for users with the "Surrogate Data Entry - Progress Notes" exception override permission.

  If you will be electronically signing progress notes, you must have completed the e-sign setup process to record your PIN and signature images (if applicable) in AWARDS.  For more information, please click here.
