The Medical module Medications feature is used to enter, update, and delete consumer medication information, along with pharmacy and administration records.  It can also be used to generate a variety of customized and built-in medication reports.

  NOTE:  The Medications feature also provides access to the AWARDS E-Prescribing functionality for those agencies that subscribe to this optional service. 

  TIP:  Medication information can also be accessed from within individual client face sheets if the face sheet has been configured to allow users to do so.  Please keep in mind that any changes made to medication information via the Medical module are reflected within the face sheet, and vice versa.

Required Permissions

The Medications feature is available for use by staff with the following permissions:

Program Chart Access
Display Any Chart Records Buttons
Display Chart Records Medical Button
Display Chart Records Profile Button (optional - to work with medications from within client face sheets if the face sheet has been configured to allow it)
Medication Data Deletion (only required if it is necessary to delete medication records)

Additionally, for each medication recorded in the Medications feature administration records can also be entered.  If you will be recording medication administration information, please keep in mind that saving an administration record requires an electronic signature from the user entering the record.  If you will be working with the medication administration records and do not currently have an electronic signature configured, please click here to learn more about how to do so.

  NOTE:  Permissions are assigned using the Permissions Maintenance feature.  If you do not have access to that feature and need a permission listed here, please contact your supervisor or your local Help Desk for assistance.

Enhancement Request Forms

Several aspects of the Medications functionality are configurable, including which fields/options are available for data entry and reporting, which are required, and what selections are shown in some drop-down lists. If you are interested in learning more about available options and/or would like to move ahead with configuration, download the following request form, complete the Medication Options and Medication Search portions, and then submit the form to [email protected].
