Updates from the COVID-19 Response Center

Response Center Updates - Have You Checked Out the Latest Links?

As we come across information and resources that could be useful to the Foothold community, we update the Response Center to make links to those items available to you.  Want a sample?  Check out this great site from Pennsylvania's ASERT (Autism Services, Education, Resources and Training) organization: Desensitization and Wearing Masks - a great reference on sensory differences and face masks.  

Telehealth Consent - Healthix Accepting Verbal Consents

The Healthix RHIO in New York State is now accepting verbal consents during telehealth visits during the COVID emergency. While verbal consents are durable during and beyond the emergency, after the emergency is over they will no longer be accepted.  For more information on recording a verbal consent in AWARDS, please read the full post, here.  If you subscribe to another RHIO, please contact them for guidance on how to proceed with collecting verbal consents.

What's New in AWARDS?

The following new features, enhancements, and updates will be available in your AWARDS database beginning on Wednesday, June 17th.  To read more about these changes in detail, please visit the What's New page in Online Help.

Budgets - New Feature!

A new Budgets feature - located within the Services - Individual module - is being made available for agencies working with client budgets.  This new feature allows users to create and manage client budgets, along with separate line item records. A new Budgets ReportBuilder is also available for creating customized budget reports.  Click here to read more.

FormBuilder Forms - Now Embeddable in Single Step Admission Forms!

The list of locations in which FormBuilder forms can be placed just got longer!  When configuring forms you'll now see a new "Admission" location, allowing you to embed forms in the single step admission form.  This added location will enable you to ask (and even require) additional questions during the single step admission process.  Additionally, the responses to questions on a form in this location, and forms in the existing Intake/Admission linked form location, will now be available on the Intake/Admission ReportBuilder.  Click here to read more.

Spell Check - Removed From Messages

With the consistent inclusion of built-in spell check functionality in modern web browsers in recent years, we removed the Spell Check button that was available on some text fields in AWARDS in 2019.  We are now removing Spell Check from the Messages module as well.  Instead, we encourage you to use your web browser's spell check functionality moving forward.  If you need assistance setting that up, please consult that browser's Help system for instructions.  Click here to read more.

A Look at What's Ahead...

There have been some big changes afoot here in the product department at Foothold.  We have established separate teams for Product Strategy and Engineering.  We have hired a new VP of Engineering.  We are also in the process of implementing a formal Agile Scrum process.  The benefit of all this work should be substantially greater transparency and insight into our development process and a clearer understanding of when different projects will be deployed.  Additionally, this process will allow us to be nimbler in our development, as most of you saw with our quick workaround COVID-related development.  Below are a few of the items we have been working on over the last quarter or two.  You will begin to see the fruits of this labor in this upcoming quarter.

  Calendar - It's been a long time coming, but the new calendar is getting ready for its close-up.  The first look at our major overhaul of this crucial module will be shown at the User's Conference on July 9th, so be sure to join us!

  COVID / Telehealth Features - New codes and workflows that allow both telehealth services and the ability to file claims for them have already been released.  Up next: Zoom integration to further support you in meeting your telehealth needs.

  FHIR - A new transmission protocol, Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR), is coming to AWARDS.

  File Cabinet Organization - New functionality that will allow you to organize electronic files in the file cabinet into folders - something that many of you have shared is on your AWARDS wishlist.

  HMIS Updates - The new LSA is underway!

Transportation Tracking in AWARDS - Have You Transitioned Yet?

The old Transportation/Rides feature in AWARDS (found under Administration > Operations > Rides), will sunset as of August 31, 2020.  Any agency actively using this feature will want to transition to the recently released and enhanced Transportation module by September 1, 2020.  Read on to learn more.
