The following new features, enhancements, and updates will be available in your AWARDS database beginning on Wednesday, June 16th!
ReportBuilders - Enhancements
As part of our ongoing efforts to make AWARDS ReportBuilders as comprehensive and user-friendly as possible, the following enhancements are being made available:
Demographics ReportBuilder - New Central Intake Data Variables - For programs configured to utilize Central Intake functionality that are designated as destination placement programs (under Agency Program Information), a new "Placement from Central Intake Program Information" section has been added to the data variable selection page for the Demographics ReportBuilder. Included in this section are data variables designed to improve reporting for central intake placement programs; for example, central intake program's admission date and discharge date, as well as referral ID data details for each individual included in the report.
Demographics ReportBuilder - New Entitlement Data Variables - Primary Entitlement Group ID Numbers, Secondary Entitlement Group ID Numbers, and Tertiary Entitlement Group ID Numbers have been added as data variable selections in the "Profile" section of this ReportBuilder's options page. When included in a demographics report these data points will pull in the private insurance group ID numbers that correspond with insurance entitlement records marked as "Primary," "Secondary," and "Tertiary," respectively.
Immunizations ReportBuilder - New Refusal Reason Data Variables - Treatment Reason/Refusal Reason and Treatment Refusal Reason have been added as data variable selections in the "Immunizations" section of this ReportBuilder's options page. When included in an immunizations report these data points will pull in information when an immunization has been refused.
The Product and Engineering Team has been very busy these past few weeks and, as noted in the last edition of FootNotes, there are lots of exciting customer engagement opportunities in the works! Check Connect With Us, below, to register for the upcoming Enhancements and BillingBuilder webinars. Also, later this month you will receive surveys from us aimed at determining customer interest in focus groups for our BillingBuilder and AWARDS Redesign work, as well as opportunities to review new features prior to release. Stay tuned!

Security Notes - Consider Replacing Passwords with "Passphrases"
After we deployed adjustments to the default password policy rules in AWARDS last month we heard from some users who were concerned with the character minimum for passwords having been increased from eight to twelve. While we understand that longer passwords can be challenging for users to remember, we also know that length has been identified by NIST as the single most effective variable in determining password strength. So if your users are among those struggling with this change, we encourage them to consider adopting use of "passphrases" rather than passwords. Not only are phrases typically easier to remember, they also have the added benefit of being more difficult for hackers to crack! Click here to check out an article on this important topic.
Tip of the Month - Optimizing Your Forms/Assessments Workflow!
Do you use lots of FormBuilder forms in AWARDS and sometimes find the lists of available forms to be unwieldy and incorrectly aligned with your workflows? If so, this Tip of the Month is for you!
AWARDS automatically alphabetizes the list of available FormBuilder forms in any given module. So, for instance, if you have four forms listed as links in your Intake/Admission form, by default they will be alphabetized. However your workflow might require that you fill them out in a different order. To accommodate this workflow need, simply preface the form names with ordered numbers.
Here we see how AWARDS will display these four Intake/Admission forms by default:
However, if your desired workflow is to first complete the Easy Intake Form, followed by the Intake Supplementary Info form, and then the Transferring Form and DHS - Family Admission Assessment - all you need to do is name the forms with ordered numbers at the beginning of the title, as shown here:
This numbering tip works across the board for any FormBuilder locations where you see a list of forms, including linked forms like in Intake/Admission and Face Sheet, as well as forms in selection lists like Progress Notes and Incidents, and links on Fly-out Menus like Services - Individual and Medical.
We would like to give a big thank you to Foothold customer Odyssey House, who recently highlighted this tip for us, noting that it allows them to order their forms in a way that is logical and intuitive to their staff according to their workflow. They also offer this expert tip - if you have more than 9 forms in any given location for a specific program, be sure to preface the single digits with a "0" so the correct order is maintained. Well done Odyssey House team!
Blog of the Month - Mental Health Awareness Month
May was Mental Health Awareness Month and, as always, Foothold Senior Advisor David Bucciferro wrote a blog to share his personal thoughts, stemming from his decades in the field as an advocate. In this blog, David reflects back on the challenges of the past year and provides a call to action for all of us to do what we can for those struggling with mental health challenges. While we know May has passed, this is an important piece and the message it sends is worth keeping in mind year-round, so we didn't want you to miss it. Read the full blog here.
