Maintaining Employee Work Schedules

To enter or update employee work schedule information, complete the following steps:

Each employee can update his or her own work schedule, as can his or her supervisor as set using the Human Resources module Staff Information feature.  Members of the Human Resources user group can update the work schedules of all staff.

  1. From the AWARDS Home screen, click Administration from the left-hand menu, and then click Human Resources.  The Human Resources Menu page is displayed.

  1. Click the Database drop-down arrow and select "Data Entry."
  2. To narrow record selection by employee, configure one or more of the selection options on this page.  Available options are:

This step is optional.

  1. Click Work Schedules.  The Work Schedule Information Worker Selection page is displayed.

  1. Click the Worker drop-down arrow and select the employee whose work schedule information is to be entered or updated.
  2. Click CONTINUE.  The Work Schedule Information data entry page is displayed.

  1. Make changes to any existing work schedule information as necessary, and/or enter new work schedule information, by configuring day and time fields and options for each of the employee's shifts.  Available options are:

Noon is 12:00 PM.  Midnight is 12:00 AM.

Noon is 12:00 PM.  Midnight is 12:00 AM.

  1. Repeat step 7 for each day on which the employee is scheduled to work.  Begin each work day/shift on a separate line in the work schedule.

Only ten lines are available when first entering a work schedule.  If more lines are needed, enter the first ten records and click CONTINUE, then click DATA ENTRY and two additional lines are presented for data entry.  Repeat this process as needed until all records are entered.

  1. Click CONTINUE.  The work schedule information is saved and a read-only report version of the work schedule is displayed on the Work Schedule Information page.

Changes made to an employee's work schedule do not affect his or her time off accruals.

To make additional changes to the work schedule at this time, click DATA ENTRY to return to the Work Schedule Information data entry page.

The process of entering or updating employee work schedule information is now complete.
