Viewing a Client File Cabinet File

All AWARDS users with access to a client's face sheet can view files attached to that face sheet.  To do so, complete the following steps:

    1. Click the Program drop-down arrow in the upper right-hand corner of the page and select the program associated with the client to be worked with.
    2. Click Census from the left-hand menu, and then click Profile.  The Profile fly-out menu is displayed.
    3. Click Face Sheet.  The Client Profile / Face Sheet Update Selection page is displayed.

    1. Click the Client drop-down arrow and select the client whose records are to be worked with.

TIP: To work with the records of a former (discharged) client, first click Roster Archives beneath the client selection option.

    1. Click CONTINUE.  The Client Face Sheet page is displayed.
    2. Scroll down to the "Client File Cabinet" section of the face sheet, which includes links for each of the client's previously uploaded files (if any), sorted alphabetically by name.

TIP: Click a heading in the file table to sort the table contents by that column.  Click that heading again to reverse the sort order.  To sort by a secondary characteristic, press <SHIFT> and click on a second column heading.

    1. To narrow the number of files displayed in the index, use the Search Cabinet field above the files table.  The index is automatically updated as you type, and looks for matches in all of the file table's columns.
    2. Click the link for the file to be viewed.
    3. PHI Download Alert is displayed, reminding you of your obligation to properly handle any confidential data and/or protected health information (PHI) within the download in accordance with related government regulations and agency policies.  After reading the alert, click OK to acknowledge it and proceed with the download, or Cancel to return to the previous page.
    4. The file is downloaded to your machine and can be opened and displayed in the appropriate software application (for example, Adobe Acrobat or Microsoft Word).  AWARDS remains open and available in the web browser window behind the file.

TIP:  If changes are made to a file once it has been opened and the updated file is saved on your computer, the updates made will not be reflected in AWARDS.  Rather, the updated file must be uploaded in place of the original version. See Editing a Client File Cabinet Document for instructions on doing so.

The process of viewing a file is now complete.
